Kanye West Tweets ‘Saturday Night Live’ Shout-Outs
Yeezy posts thank-you’s to behind-the-scenes team that helped him pull off ‘performance art’ on ‘SNL.’

Kanye West is earning rave reviews after his thought-provoking “Saturday Night Live” appearance, but the rapper admits he couldn’t have pulled off those performances without some help.

Dressed in the red suit that he wore to the VMAs last month, complete with layers of gold bling and red kicks, West shook up the “SNL” stage performing in front of a stark, white backdrop, along with a bevy of ballerinas for renditions of “Runaway” and “Power.”

“Saturday night live… The team effort!” Kanye tweeted. “I couldn’t do these things without a team of people with the same goal. To make performance art.”

West then tweeted a number of “thank you” tweets to the team who helped him. “First I want to thank Gabe for talking me into doing the performance in the first place,” he said. “The choreographer Yemi from Prague who also worked on the film and the VMAs.”

It turns out Yemi is Yemi AD, managing director of JAD Dance Company, a group based in Prague. (Yemi has also worked with MTV Europe as a correspondent for the Czech Republic.)

As for his now-recognizable look, West gave shout-outs to the people behind the fashion. “The art and style team, Virgil Abloh, Lauren Matos & Cassius Clay. Stylist Rushka Bergman of Italian Vogue who also styled the VMAs… also her assistants Ashley and Jonathin.” Abloh also worked with West on his Air Yeezy shoes, while Bergman is a contributing fashion editor for L’Uomo Vogue and Vogue Italia, according to her biography.

West thanked his label too: “L.A. [Reid] who’s doing a great job at Def Jam. We gone kill it again November 22nd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” he wrote about the hotly anticipated album. “Even with the leaks fam… Steve Bartels , Gabby Peluso, Tracey Waples!”

And in true West tradition, he dropped a designer name before showing some more gratitude. “Giving the city the Burberry coat 2day by the way! Here’s the tweet you all knew was coming… Love to SNL and the whole cast!” he said, and then gave the ballerinas a shout-out. “Thank you to all 30 girls! Good Job!”
