How many times could one fall into a hot water without learning a lesson? Chris Brown has released a freestyle version of Kanye West’s “Way Too Cold,” and his lyrics have reportedly landed the controversial Grammy-winning hip-hop star in hot water with ex-girlfriend Rihanna. On the track, Brown raps, “Don’t f— with my old bitch it’s like a bad fur/ Every industry n—a done had her/ Shook the tree like a pumpkin just to smash her/ Bitch is breaking codes, but I’m the password.”

Surprisingly, out of no where, Kanye West dropped a video for “Lost in the World” off his fifth album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. But director Ruth Hogben tells MTV News that she and ‘Ye actually shot the video together last summer. Hogben, a fashion filmmaker, explained that she was introduced to Kanye through her SHOWStudio colleague Nick Knight, who thought that she would be a good fit to work with the eccentric rapper/producer.

In its second week on the charts, Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne has become one of the few Hip Hop releases this year to achieve gold certification for moving more than 500,000 units.
The album, which holds court at the top of the Billboard 200 for the second consecutive week, sold an additional 177,000 copies, upping its overall cume to 613,000 albums sold since its release. This also marks the first week that both digital and physical editions of the LP were available for the entirety of the sales period.

Since Kanye West first announced Watch the Throne on Twitter in August 2010, the tag-team LP with Jay-Z had been shrouded in mystery. In the months leading up to the album’s August 8, 2011 release, details remained sketchy. There was no loaded press run, super radio push, music video or album leaks leading up to the drop. In fact, “H.A.M” and “Otis” were the only songs released to the general public; beyond that there was nothing.

The Throne will get a royal reception on the Billboard 200 albums charts next week. Watch the Throne, the superstar hookup between Kanye West and Jay-Z, sold more than 436,000 copies in its first week, according to figures provided by Nielsen SoundScan, putting up the second-biggest debut sales week of the year so far, behind Lady Gaga’s Born This Way, which moved 1.1 million.

With so much star power driving Jay-Z and Kanye West’s Watch the Throne, it’s a wonder the project has seen so many delays and so few hard release dates.It appears, however, that iTunes has finally provided the latter. Maybe.
The digital retailer has revealed that Monday, August 8, is the “expected release” date of the album. With that caveat of “expected” in mind, standard and deluxe editions of the album are available for pre-order.
