According to an exclusive story by The Hollywood Reporter, a woman claiming to be Drake’s ex-girlfriend and the inspiration for “Marvin’s Room” is suing the YMCMB rapper for co-writing royalties on the song. Ericka Lee, who is credited in the liner notes of “Marvin’s Room” as a vocalist under the name “Syren Lyric Muse,” believes she is entitled to a larger share of the song’s royalties.

2012 has just started and already shaping up to be huge for hip-hop. Not only did Jay-Z hint that we’d be getting separate solo albums from him and Kanye West, Hov told MTV News that we just may get another Throne album. Will another tour follow? Jay and Yeezy aren’t the only ones gearing up for huge releases this year. Rick Ross, T.I., Nicki Minaj and Nas are all on deck to drop in 2012, and there rumors of an OutKast reunion — then again, there are always rumors of an OutKast reunion.

Singer-songwriter Ester Dean has signed a management deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation.
The 24-year-old broke the news on Twitter (via Rap-Up). “I’m so Grateful 4 my Team Past and Present! Bringing in the New Year with my new Team @RocNation 2012,” she tweeted. The Oklahoma native has lent her pen to dozens of artists in the game. Credits include Nicki Minaj’s “Super Bass,” Rihanna’s “What’s My Name?” featuring Drake, Usher’s “Lil Freak” featuring Minaj and Dr. Dre’s “Under Pressure” featuring Jay-Z.

With all of this talk of outrageous tattoos involving Drake and a fan, you would think he would stay away from the ink and needle. Not quite. Apparently, the ‘Headlines’ rapper got a tattoo of the late R&B songbird Aaliyah on his back.
It’s widely known of Drizzy’s love and appreciation for Aaliyah. He paid homage to her on his last album ‘Thank Me Later’ by sampling ‘(At Your Best) You Are Love’ for his song ‘Unforgettable.’ So now he took it one step further with some artwork on his back.

LOS ANGELES (Around 3PM)— A music executive critically wounded by a gunman who opened fire Friday in Hollywood died Monday of his injuries, Los Angeles police said.
John C. Atterberry, 40, of Hollywood Hills, was driving near the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street when he was shot three times in the face and neck by the gunman, later identified by authorities as Tyler Brehm, 26, of Los Angeles.

On his freshly released mixtape 1.21 Gigawatts , Ludacris assumedly takes aim at Drake and Big Sean on the track “Badaboom.” The DTP leader, who has previously spoken out on rappers stealing his “Supa Dupa” flow (denoted by one-word punch lines at the end of sentences), fires subliminal shots at the rappers on the cut for claiming they invented the style.

Drake and Classified were just a few of the winners at last night’s 2011 MuchMusic Video Awards, which took place in Toronto, Canada. Drizzy was honored with the International Video of the Year by a Canadian award for “Find Your Love,” in which he tied with Justin Bieber for his Usher-assisted “Somebody to Love (Remix)” clip. Additionally, Classified took home the trophy for MuchVIBE Hip-Hop Video of the Year. The Nova Scotia native won for his visuals for “That Ain’t Classy,” a cut off his recently released album Handshakes and Middle Fingers.
